When lemons are abound

August 30th, 2005

得起,放得下。 I think its especially true. Yeah, its cliche but hey, the advice is sound. We all have our ups and downs. Its life right? *chuckle* When your world is bleak and cold, where do you seek solace? In the arms of a lover? Huddling with your best bud? Bask in the warmth of your family? I did all those. But why we do always seek help or perhaps pray, only in times of turmoil? We never did appreciate those around us. Maybe you did. Maybe you didn’t. Theres this time, clumsy me sprained my ankle and it hurts like hell. So I had to wobble around with crutches. Not fun. Not funny either. Sum ppl seem to find it funny though. I clearly remembered a friend who stood by me, literally stood by me when everyone else is bustling around. Friends like these I’ll never forget. Lovers come and go, like seasons you know? Haha.. Okay, bad joke. Family support never wavers, I’m thankful. Grateful. =) Amen. I thrive where there’re smiles, laughter, jokes, and wacky people(not those nutters from tjg rambutan plz). I’m happiest when people around me are happy. Haha.. One for all, all for one. Gee, =p sooo cliche. Haha! =) Be grateful. Oh, yeah, one more thing. I love you guys. =D

My very own patchwork blanket

August 13th, 2005

Over the years, I’ve collected, gained and sew these experiences into a colourful patchwork of memories. Its protuberant belly grows larger with each newly fused pieces of experience. See, this faded yellow triangle cut-out might be the story of my first love. That slightly jagged square shape with a lovely hue of blue may remind me of a dear friend’s convocation. And will you look at this, a pale green circle which bears the memories of a stranger’s kindness.

I’ve learnt, from my own lessons, and that of others, that:

  • when he/she is in love, it shows.
  • maturity should never be gauged by age.
  • love isn’t blind. It makes us blind.
  • to never take things for granted. He could give, and He could take it away.
  • friendship IS priceless. Don’t try to swipe your credit card with this one.
  • there are things money can’t really buy. You could buy sex but not love.
  • people often confuse between love, lust and infatuation.
  • after a date, if he awaits you till you’re safely back in your house, then only he leaves, he is worth considering.
  • obstacles are abound. Its your choice to hurdle through it or to crumble beneath it.
  • some people will fall in love, eventually. And some will fall out of love too, eventually.
  • people are selfish, whether they choose to acknowledge or not.
  • people are lying if they didn’t care about outer beauty. At least to some degree.
  • people who commit suicide, are foolish. They deserve Hell.
  • happy families are like plants. Water, sunshine, air with a bagful of love  will do the trick. =p
  • nothing is impossible. You draw your own lines.

1385194350 Males. Boys. Guys. Blokes. Chaps. Dudes. Fellows. Gents. Gentlemen. Lads. Misters. Husbands. Boyfriends. Guy mistresses. Whatever you call em’. They’re everywhere. Swarming the planet like ants on a ham. Infesting planet Earth with their seeds. =p Nah, was jk. So what about them? Besides exhibiting different secondary sexual characteristics, how dissimilar are they from us females? =)

You see, one thing about them, they see the big picture. We emphasize on ornate, elaborate details. Allow me to illustrate. =p Guy dates girl. Guy cares only about getting from point A to point B. For all you know, they’ll just grab a blue T-shirt (whatever you fancy), slip on a pair of jeans and off they trot. Girl will fuss about whether to wear pink or black mini skirt, with matching shoes and perhaps undergarments. Then, theres the hair to dress up, makeup to be applied and jewelery maybe. Why? Dressed to impress. Sum of us will opt to skip sum of the afore-mentioned steps but hey, girls are designed in such a way that we don’t just scrutinize details, but its a built-in mechanism. I don’t know how does a male’s brain works, maybe some of you could tell me why they see only the big picture?

Is the grass really greener on the other side of the gender? Boys are being favored because they could carry down family names, have no monthlies, no despised slit of flesh, no risk of being impregnated, have no need to bear children, or simply because they possess the one thing we females don’t, a prized curl of flesh. I’d have to say, its especially true in Chinese families, maybe not the modern ones. They seem to associated boys as a symbol of power, masculinity, raw strength, and all those macho traits. You get the gist. Females struggling for equality between the sexes will never succeed, not 100%. No matter how you protest girls and boys are equals, girls will always be a step behind. Sad, but true. You must be thinking whether was I brought up in a conservative family. Perhaps. N I’m not trying to ‘pai the guys ma pi’ okay.

Lol, If I were to continue this, it would be never-ending. Its one of my favorite subjects though, I find males interesting nevertheless. No, I’m not hamsap. * Shakes head * Malaysians. Anyway, feel free to post. =)

Je t’aime, mon petite..
